In Loving Memory of
Margaret Marie Pileggi
Our Honey and Queen of Hearts
Born to Eternal Life on September 29, 2025
Margaret Marie Pileggi (“Maggie”) passed on to her eternal reward on Monday, September 29, 2025. As matriarch of the Pileggi family, she is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gary Pileggi, along with her children, James, Mary Rose, Jean, and Michael, as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Born on July 25, 1941, into a large family full of love and laughter, Maggie was the cherished youngest sister of the Mullins clan. We are comforted knowing she can finally reunite with her beloved parents and siblings.
Maggie devoted her life to her family and her faith. A true child of God, her love for the Eucharist and the Catholic Church was unparalleled. She pursued the Lord in all she did, ministering to others in many arenas; most notably saving countless babies through her hands-on work with pro-life ministries. She also acted as a lifelong patron for the Discalced Carmelite nuns of Lafayette, Louisiana.
A pillar of loyalty and compassion, Maggie was known for standing by her friends, supporting them in any way she possibly could. She deeply valued these lifelong relationships and always put her whole heart forth without hesitation. Of course, the same was true for her beloved husband. Maggie was his biggest fan and told anyone who would listen how wonderful he was to her and their loved ones.
Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She happily took up her mantle as “Honey” and “Queen of Hearts” and dedicated herself to hosting birthdays, holidays, and family vacations. There was perhaps no one better at infusing an ordinary occasion with extra fun and faith. And always with the perfect pair of earrings!
Maggie left a legacy of joy, celebration, and sacrifice. She will always be remembered for her generous heart, soaring spirit, and colorful character. We pray for the repose of her soul and peace for those she left behind when she ran joyfully home to her Lord.
