A 62-year-old Orlando man died on Thursday afternoon after his minivan collided with a utility pole on Goldenrod Road in Orange County.
The fatal crash occurred at around 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, near the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Valencia College Lane, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The report stated that the man was traveling northbound on Goldenrod Road in a 2008 Toyota Sienna when he approached the intersection of Valencia College Lane.
For reasons that are unknown, the minivan veered off the roadway in a northeasterly direction. The vehicle then drove onto the shoulder, where it struck a concrete utility pole.
The man was the sole occupant of the minivan. He was transported to AdventHealth East Orlando, where he was pronounced deceased.
A trooper noted in the report that it is unknown if the man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The single-vehicle crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
