During a recent undercover operation conducted by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, more than 30 local stores were caught selling alcohol or tobacco products to an underage customer.

According to VCSO, an undercover buyer under the age of 21 went into 59 stores throughout Volusia County during the weekslong operation, which was a joint effort between the East and West Volusia Narcotics Task Forces and Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team.

The sheriff’s office stated that the following 31 stores sold alcohol or tobacco to the underage buyer:

  • Edgewater Food Mart (113 N Ridgewood Avenue in Edgewater) sold vape.
  • NSB Vape Parolor (638 3rd Avenue in New Smyrna Beach) sold vape.
  • Lucky Smoke (501 Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach) sold vape.
  • BP Gas Station (751 Sugar Mill Drive in New Smyrna Beach) sold beer and kratom.
  • AK Food Store (727 Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach) sold beer and kratom.
  • Green Culture Smoke Shop (658 N Dixie Freeway in New Smyrna Beach) sold cigarettes and kratom.
  • Marathon (4622 S Clyde Morris Boulevard in Port Orange) sold beer.
  • Citgo (550 Ridgewood Avenue in Holly Hill) sold beer.
  • 7-Eleven (3 N Yonge Street in Ormond Beach) sold beer.
  • Sunoco (5 N Yonge Street in Ormond Beach) sold beer.
  • Little Sammys (897 Deltona Boulevard in Deltona) sold vape.
  • Vaporized (2091 Saxon Boulevard, Suite 102 in Deltona) sold vape.

  • Discount Market (1100 W Euclid Avenue in DeLand) sold vape.
  • Sunstate Mystik (430 E New York Avenue in DeLand) sold vape.
  • Volusia Smoke and Vape (1422 N Woodland Boulevard in DeLand) sold vape.

In a social media post, VCSO said that charges will be filed with the State Attorney’s Office on all store clerks, managers, and owners who sold the alcohol/tobacco products to the undercover buyer.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is reminding all businesses to avoid these violations by following the law and checking IDs.
