James William Zimmerman died peacefully on November 6, 2025 in Apopka, Florida at the age of 84.

Jim is survived by his wife Lorraine of Apopka, Florida, stepson Eric Winemiller of Spring City, Pennsylvania, his stepdaughter Jessica Casey and her husband Scott Casey of Apopka, Florida, his grandchildren Ethan and Anya Winemiller of Spring City, Pennsylvania and Lane Casey of Apopka, Florida. Jim is also survived by his brother Robert’s children, Jimmy and Julie, and their families and children as well as his 5 stepsiblings Anne, Mary, Connie, John and Mike, and their families.

He is preceded in death by his mother Marian Brieg Zimmerman, father Robert Zimmerman, stepmother Connie Zimmerman and brother Robert Zimmerman, his stepsisters Beth and Mimi and his stepbrothers Greg and Joe.

Jim was born on August 25, 1941 in Covington, Kentucky to Robert and Marian Zimmerman. He graduated from Thomas Moore University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He was a commercial lines marketing representative in the insurance industry until his retirement at the age of 58. He married Lorraine on January 16, 1993. They lived in Apopka, Florida for the last 25 years.

A memorial is scheduled for November 20, 2025 from 5 p.m. until 8PM at DeGusipe’s Maitland Chapel located at 9001 N. Orlando, Ave., Maitland Florida 32751. A funeral mass is scheduled for November 21, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church located at 1020 Montgomery Rd., Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714. Father Baumann will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jim’s life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Jim’s name. The family and friends are welcome to a luncheon reception immediately after Mass at the Zimmerman home.
