The Orlando Police Department is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 42-year-old man on Sunday night.

According to OPD, officers responded to the 3400 block of Columbia Street at around 10:10 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area.

When officers arrived on-scene, they found a victim lying on the ground who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as Brian Blackshear.

Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures on Blackshear. However, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
