A 21-year-old Orlando man died on Thanksgiving after his motorcycle crashed on Fort Christmas Road in Orange County.
The fatal single-vehicle accident occurred shortly after 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, near the intersection of Fort Christmas Road and Wheeler Road, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The report stated that a 2020 Yamaha MT-1000 was traveling northbound on Fort Christmas Road, approaching the intersection of Wheeler Road, when its 21-year-old male rider failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
The rider was then thrown from the motorcycle, and he collided with a nearby guardrail. Paramedics arrived on-scene and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A trooper noted in the report that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
