A 49-year-old man was arrested by Orlando police in connection with a shooting that claimed the life of another man in November.
Back on Sunday, November 23, at around 10:10 p.m., Orlando Police Department officers responded to the 3400 block of Columbia Street after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area.
When officers arrived on-scene, they found a victim lying on the ground who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Brian Blackshear.

Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures on Blackshear. However, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A homicide investigation was launched by OPD, which led detectives to identifying Orlando resident William Payne, 49, as the suspected shooter.
On Wednesday, December 10, members of OPD’s homicide unit arrested Payne and transported him to Orange County Jail, where he remains in custody without bond.
Payne is being charged with first-degree murder with a firearm.
