The Orlando Fire Department recently rescued a dog that had become trapped under a State Road 408 overpass.

On the morning of Monday, December 29, a boater spotted a dog underneath the SR 408 overpass on Lake Underhill, according to OFD.

The fire department’s Tower 11 and Dive 1 units responded to the overpass and observed that the dog “appeared to be in distress.”

Local Animal Control units also arrived on-scene and provided a cage. Due to the “extreme rocky conditions” under the overpass, the firefighters placed the dog into the cage before handing it to the dive crew.

The dog was then safely delivered by the dive crew to Animal Control workers who were waiting at a nearby boat ramp.

“Great job rescuing the dog, everyone!” said OFD in a social media post.
