The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received an unusual call last week after a deer entered a local residence through a window.
In a social media post that included video footage, OCSO said that a local family had notified the agency that a deer had “crashed through a living room window” and entered their kitchen.
Deputies soon arrived on-scene and entered the home. They observed that the deer was losing its balance while trying to stand on the tile in the kitchen.
One of the deputies opened a sliding glass door leading to the back yard, but the deer was struggling to walk inside the home.

The deputy approached the deer and placed his hands on the animal while calmly stating that everything was okay. Moments later, the deputy began petting the top of the deer’s head while calling the animal a “good little deer.”

On the video footage, the deputy is seen picking up the deer and carrying it outside.

The deer briefly struggled to regain its balance, and the deputies wondered if the animal had sustained an injury. However, the deputies soon realized that the deer was fine after it began running around the perimeter of the back yard.

The incident came to an end when the deputy opened a gate, and the deer ran towards it before exiting the backyard.

While looking towards the nearby woods, the deputy is heard on the footage saying, “Bye.”
OCSO reported the incident to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
