Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire are bringing their co-headlining tour to Orlando’s Kia Center this summer.
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25 at the Kia Center located at 400 W Church Street in downtown Orlando. Doors open an hour early at 6:30 p.m.
Richie rose to fame in the 1970s as a member of the iconic funk and soul band The Commodores. He later embarked on a highly successful solo career, with hit singles that include “Hello,” “All Night Long (All Night),” and “Dancing on the Ceiling.”
Known for his soulful voice and many contributions to the music industry, Richie has earned numerous awards and accolades over his lengthy career.
In 2016, Richie received the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s highest honor: the Johnny Mercer Award. Six years later, he received the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Congress as well as the American Music Awards Icon Award.
Additionally, Richie was inducted into the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022.
Joining Richie on July 25 is Earth, Wind & Fire, a musical group whose style and sound span various music genres including jazz, R&B, soul, funk, disco, pop, Latin, and Afro-pop.
Earth, Wind & Fire is among the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 90 million records sold worldwide. The band is known for its dynamic horn section, as well as its energetic and elaborate stage shows.
Over the years, the band has released iconic songs like “September,” “Shining Star,” and “Fantasy,” earning them multiple Grammy Awards.
Earth, Wind & Fire has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, the NAACP Image Award Hall of Fame, and Hollywood’s Rockwalk. They have also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In addition, the band has received an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award, a BET Lifetime Achievement Award, a Soul Train Legend Award, a NARAS Signature Governor’s Award, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
