A 43-year-old man was arrested on a dozen criminal mischief charges after allegedly vandalizing businesses, homes, and vehicles in the downtown Orlando area.
On Thursday, February 5, Orlando Police Department officers responded to the downtown district after receiving multiple reports of criminal mischief involving shattered windows and damaged vehicles, according to OPD.
The officers observed approximately $70,000 in damage to residential properties, businesses, historic windows, and vehicles throughout the downtown area.

OPD stated that video surveillance footage of the vandalism incidents, which showed the male suspect using a “blunt metal object” to break glass before running away. The footage led officers to identifying Jean Luckner Charmant as the suspect in this case.

Officers soon located Charmant and conducted an interview. After being read his Miranda rights, Charmant allegedly “admitted to the crimes,” according to OPD.
Charmant was placed under arrest and booked into Orange County Jail, where he remains in custody. His bond has been set at $20,000, and he has been charged with 12 counts of criminal mischief.
