Stephanos Joseph George Carellas, 31, of Orlando, Florida, passed away February 16, 2026, son of Peter and Elizabeth (Aycock) Carellas.
He was born in Chios, Greece, on January 11, 1995, and brought home to Fairfax, Virginia at 14 months old. Stephanos was baptized and christened at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Washington, DC.
At the age of two years old, his family moved to Orlando, Florida, closer to grandparents and cousins. One of the first places he and his mother visited was Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Stephanos looked around and immediately started exploring. It became his ‘second home’. He was active as an acolyte, participated with the youth groups, and volunteers at the festivals.
As a little boy, he loved everything about dinosaurs and was more interested in factual details than the animated. At the age of 3 years old, he was memorizing books verbatim.
Stephanos graduated from Lake Nona High School, where he was on track, long distance, shot put, soccer team. He attended Valencia College and Daytona State College.
Stephanos was a bit of a free spirit and traveled across the U.S. He enjoyed all things cars and motorcycles, working construction, skateboarding and surfing for fun. In tandem, he was astute with current events and politics.
Stephanos will be missed by all who knew him, including his brother, Alexandros Valentinos Martelis Carellas, and sister, Helena Victoria Carellas, grandmother, Arlene Aycock, uncle and aunt, William and Charis Aycock, cousins, Wyatt, Tyler, Garrett, and other family and friends, from Massachusetts and California, and godparents in Greece.
In lieu of flowers, one is welcome to make a charitable memorial donation in Stephanos’ name to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, a very foundational place in his life.
