A 29-year-old Vero Beach man was killed on Saturday night after his motorcycle struck a light pole on Interstate 95 in Brevard County.
The fatal collision occurred on I-95, near mile marker 176, at around 11:52 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
A witness told FHP investigators that the motorcycle, identified in the report as a Suzuki GSX-R600, was traveling southbound on the interstate when its rider “veered off the roadway [to the] left.”
The motorcycle then proceeded to crash into a nearby light pole.
The rider was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The report mentioned that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
“This crash remains under investigation,” noted an FHP trooper in the report.
