Pop singer Meghan Trainor has canceled her upcoming “Get In Girl” tour, which was set to make a stop at Orlando’s Kia Center this summer.
Trainor announced the cancellation in a social media post on Thursday. The singer said that “a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations” led to the “difficult decision” to scrap her entire tour.
“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time,” said Trainor.
Next week, on April 24, Trainor’s seventh full-length album, Toy With Me, is scheduled to release. She stated that she is “so proud of (the album),” and she can’t wait for her fans to hear it.
Trainor was originally scheduled to perform at the Kia Center in downtown Orlando on June 30, with Icona Pop as the planned special guest.
While Trainor acknowledges that canceling the upcoming shows will disappoint her fans, she promises that she will “be back soon.”
Trainor is known for her retro-inspired sound and empowering lyrics. In 2014, she broke out with her hit single “All About That Bass,” which blended doo-wop and pop to promote body positivity.
The singer’s albums, which include Title, Thank You, and Takin’ It Back, mix catchy hooks, soulful influences, and messages of confidence and self-love.
