With deep love and respect, we remember Joseph Castan, who passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., leaving behind a legacy of strength, dedication, and love for his family.
Joseph was born on September 4, 1945. He was first married to Sylette Vilsainte, who passed away in November 1982. From this union, he had one daughter, Sabrina.
On November 15, 1985, he married his wife, Yvrose. Together, they built a family and welcomed their son, Steve.
While living in Haiti, Joseph worked as a barber, a trade he continued after moving to Chicago, where he served his community for many years. Later in life, he worked at Home Depot until his retirement, and even for a time afterward.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Yvrose Castan; his daughter, Sabrina Rudolph, and her husband, Tony Rudolph; his son, Steve Castan; his siblings, Leonide Edmond, Noemi Amilcar, and Roger Castan; his three grandchildren; along with many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Joseph will be remembered as a man who touched the lives of those around him through his presence, his character, and the care he showed to his family and community. He was kind and patient, never raised his voice, and was a pleasure to be around. Though his absence is deeply felt, the memories he leaves behind will remain in our hearts forever.
