Joanne Page Prince died peacefully in her sleep on March 30, 2026 in Winter Park, Florida at the age of 84.

Joanne is survived by her nephew Bret Herring of Port St. Lucie along with his wife Stephanie and their sons, Timothy Heckel, Thomas Heckel and Tyler Heckel, as well as her longtime friend, former business partner and caregiver Mary Grieder of Winter Park, Florida. Joanne is preceded in death by her sister Nancy Earl Herring of West Palm Beach, Florida and her stepson Robert “Robbie” Prince of Tallahassee, Florida.

Joanne was born on November 15, 1941 in Thomasville, Georgia and moved to College Park when she was 12. She graduated from Edgewater High School in 1959 and attended nursing school at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and earned her AA in nursing. She worked for Dr. William Bricker, Podiatrist in Orlando until she started her real estate career in 1981.

Joanne was passionate about real estate and helping others find their perfect home, and as such she made life-long friends of many families she worked with. She partnered with many builders and over the years helped develop and manage several communities including Pickett Downs in Chuluota, Florida and Fallbrook in Altamonte Springs, Florida where she resided for almost 40 years.

Joanne was a massive sports fan, especially football, and the Florida State Seminoles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were her favorite teams. Joanne loved Southern cooking, puzzles and playing Black Jack. Joanne touched many lives in Central Florida over many decades and she will be missed.

Per Joanne’s wishes, no formal services will be held but a Celebration of Joanne’s Life is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at The Castle Irish Pub in College Park located at 2625 Edgewater Dr, Orlando, FL 32804. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to her favorite charities, the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
