Carl Foglesong passed away at the end of February 2026 due to a sudden illness. He was found doing some home improvements and at age 80 was still enjoying life. He was born on March 18, 1945, in Kewanna, IN.

He helped with the family painting business as a teenager, painting everything from huge summer homes on Lake Max in Culver to businesses in Kewanna. Even later in life, he said he still enjoyed painting his home and that it took him back to being young.

He graduated from Kewanna High School in Indiana in 1963. One of his favorite things was seeing his classmates at the reunions. He attended his 62nd high school reunion in 2025 and visited his local family while he was in town.

Carl taught at Valparaiso Community College for 5 years. He earned his masters degree from Purdue during that time.

In 1985 he moved to Orlando, FL and moved into the construction trade where he managed work and built over 500 houses and many commercial buildings until he retired. He was a dedicated fan of Purdue Basketball. He enjoyed growing cherry tomatoes, going for walks, and spending time with his poodle, Mollie.

A Celebration of Life, hosted by his family, will be held on May 16, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Kewanna Public Library meeting room at 210 E Main St. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations for the Kewanna Union Township Public Library by mail at PO Box 365, Kewanna, IN 46939.
