Anne Robertson Thompson, Age 75, of Apopka, Florida, passed away in the late hours of Sunday, May 3rd, 2026.

Born on November 8th, 1950 in the state of Ohio to William Robertson Fairgrieve and Ruth Louise Nielsen, Anne followed her passion for learning to Bucknell University in Pennsylvania where she majored in Special Education. She found great happiness in not only learning, but sharing her knowledge with others through teaching. She then followed her passion for helping others by working as a Substance Abuse Counselor for many years. Upon retiring, she returned to her love of knowledge and teaching bright young minds by offering tutoring services to students struggling in all courses of study including Math and English. She found fulfillment through teaching and hoped that her support would help them both academically and mentally. She cherished the opportunity to motivate and reassure her students that they had a bright future ahead of them and they could accomplish anything they set their minds to.

In addition to her love for tutoring and counseling, she will be remembered for so much more. She has always loved dogs – particularly Australian Shepherds. She decided to take on the challenge of learning how to breed these beautiful dogs by reading as many books as she could find. Once she felt confident enough, she took the plunge. While we know that she would have been thrilled to keep them all to herself, she chose to seek out loving families looking for the love and comfort that only a dog can provide. She was proud and overjoyed to know that she was still able to make a positive impact on so many families over the years.

In addition to her love of dogs, she equally loved writing and she had an extraordinary vocabulary. Even towards the end, she was sharp as a whip and enjoyed challenging her children to a game of Scrabble. She won every game by a landslide. It was a remarkable sight to see her wheels turning and witnessing how smart she really was. Anne loved to laugh and spend her days with her adoring husband, Roy. Her family is truly grateful that Anne and Roy found each other. Her family will always cherish the memories as they watched them grow into best friends. Finally, one of her other favorite pastimes was speaking to her children and family as often as possible. From voicemails with her singing happy birthday to lengthy chats about everything under the sun, she could always put a smile on your face and share a few good laughs at her corny jokes. Oh! And her nickname in college was “Figleaf”. While she may not have liked it back then, it grew on her over the years. How could it not? That’s an adorable nickname!

Anne is survived by her husband, Roy; her children, Kristin, Justin, Nicole and Cassidy; her niece Jessica; her nephews Kevin and Andrew; as well as her cousins Marilyn and Rick. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Margaret; and her brother Bill whom unfortunately passed away earlier this year. We ask that you please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

While her loved ones that she left behind are devastated and question how the hole in their hearts could ever possibly be filled again, they thank God for bringing her peace and reuniting her with her parents and siblings in heaven.

A private Memorial will be held at a later date per Anne’s wishes.
