A 29-year-old Daytona Beach man was arrested on an attempted murder charge in connection with a shooting that left one person critically injured last week.

The Daytona Beach Police Department announced on Friday, May 15, that Key’shaun Ronald Eugene Martin, Jr. has been apprehended in connection to the shooting, which occurred two days earlier.

On Wednesday, May 13, Daytona Beach police officers responded to Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area. When officers arrived at the incident location, they found a victim who had sustained critical injuries.

An investigation was launched by Daytona Beach police, which led to Martin being identified as the suspected shooter.

After Martin was taken into custody, the police department stated in a media release that “details are limited at this time” as the investigation remains “active and ongoing.”
