A 46-year-old Sanford man with multiple felony convictions has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison after operating a drug stash house filled with cocaine and an arsenal of weapons.

Earlier this week, Terrence Denard Perkins was sentenced to two-and-a-half decades behind bars for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

As part of his sentence, the court ordered Perkins to forfeit more than a dozen firearms – including AR-style rifles, handguns, and a machine gun – along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Perkins was indicted in January 2025, and a federal jury found him guilty of the charges in November of that year.

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, agents with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office were conducting an investigation in January 2024 when they learned of a planned robbery at Perkins’s stash house in a residential Sanford neighborhood. Agents quickly obtained and executed a search warrant at the home, which was occupied by Perkins’s elderly stepfather.

During the search, law enforcement officers located an electronic money counter, several revolvers, and a loaded AR-15 semi-automatic rifle hidden behind a sofa cushion.

The search continued in the backyard, where agents found bags of cocaine under a carport, alongside a cutting, packaging, and distribution station.

In addition, a MAC-10 handgun wrapped in a T-shirt and another loaded AR-15 were reportedly located nearby on the hood of a Corvette belonging to Perkins.

Investigators also searched two broken-down cars on the property. Inside one vehicle, agents recovered an AK-47 rifle, a machine gun, additional AR-15s, handguns, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. Inside the second car, which was positioned just outside his elderly stepfather’s bedroom window, agents located Perkins’s inventory of 18 vacuum-sealed and stamped kilogram bricks of cocaine, according to court records.

Following the raid, Perkins was placed under arrest and booked into the Seminole County Jail.

After reviewing numerous pieces of evidence – including financial records, DNA testing, video surveillance footage, and his own social media posts – agents determined that Perkins had been trafficking and distributing kilogram-quantities of cocaine in Sanford for years using “cartel-linked suppliers.”

Perkins is no stranger to law enforcement, with seven prior felony convictions for charges that include conspiracy to traffic cocaine, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and aggravated fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer. Due to his criminal history, Perkins is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
