Gwen Descoteau (Gibby) passed away peacefully in Orlando, Florida on June 4, 2026 at the age of 87.
Gwen is survived by her daughters, Angela Descoteau Shaw (John Charles), and Kim Holliday (Robert); as well as her grandchildren, Brandon Descoteau (Elizabeth), Bryanna Bran (Hugo), Bryan Holliday, Scott Holliday, Jennifer Nichols (Sam), John Descoteau “Dakota” Shaw, Charles McGregor Shaw, and Keegan Riley Shaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Leta Gibby; brothers Ray Gibby and Marvin Gibby; and son Ricky Descoteau, of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Gwen was born on December 16, 1938 in Rupert, Arkansas. She graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1956. After moving to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1983, she earned a certificate in interior design and began working as an interior designer for CDA and later for MBS. She was an accomplished interior designer for both commercial and residential projects. Gwen was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Gwen on June 12,2026 at 10 a.m. at San Pedro Spiritual Center, located at 95 Bishop Grady Lane, Winter Park, Florida. Msgr. John Bluett will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gwen’s beautiful life.
Interment will follow the mass at Queen of Angels Cemetery.
