A 20-year-old Orlando man died early Saturday morning after losing control of his vehicle on a local roadway, striking a tree, and overturning several times.

The fatal, single-vehicle crash occurred near the intersection of Landstar Boulevard and Borg Street in Orlando at around 1:08 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

A Ford Mustang was traveling southbound on Landstar Boulevard when its 20-year-old driver reportedly failed to safely negotiate a curve in the roadway near Borg Street.

Investigators stated that the Mustang ran off the road to the left and crossed over the northbound lanes of Landstar Boulevard, where it collided with a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn before coming to a final rest.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
