As COVID-19 cases continue to decline in Orange County, last week’s positivity rate was among the lowest in the state.
According to the Florida Department of Health’s COVID-19 weekly situation report, between January 28 and February 3, around 7,934 residents tested positive for the virus.
The positivity rate for the week was 18.2%. That places Orange County among the lowest rates across Florida’s 67 counties.
During the week, approximately 2,813 residents were vaccinated. To date, over 1,050,000 of Orange County’s nearly 1.5 million residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine. That represents approximately 77% of all eligible residents over the age of 5.
As of last week, 365,411 residents have tested positive for coronavirus since the pandemic began. The number of residents that have passed away from COVID-19 is approximately 2,436.
