24-year-old Kissimmee woman in serious condition after head-on collision

A 24-year-old Kissimmee woman is in serious condition after her vehicle was involved in a near head-on collision with a tractor trailer on Monday morning.

The accident took place on State Road 33 at around 4:54 a.m. on Monday, April 25, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The woman was driving a Chevrolet Camaro southbound on the highway, approaching Van Fleet Road.

For unknown reasons, the woman lost control of the vehicle and the Camaro crossed the centerline and entered the northbound lane, where it collided nearly head-on with a tractor trailer being driven by a 40-year-old Tampa man.

After the crash, the tractor trailer came to final rest in the travel lanes, blocking both with fuel and oil leaks.
