A 39-year-old man from Winter Garden claimed a $1,000,000 prize this week from a Florida Lottery scratch-off that he purchased at a local Wawa.
Joshua Hudgins claimed a $1 million prize from the “Billion Dollar Gold Rush Supreme” scratch-off game at the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
Hudgins, who chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $880,000, purchased his winning ticket from the Wawa located at 7940 West Irlo Bronson Highway in Kissimmee.
The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.
The “30 Billion Dollar Gold Rush Supreme” scratch-off series launched in February of last year and features four top prizes of $15 million. The game also features 24 prizes of $1 million. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.59.
