1UP Orlando will revive an 80s-themed, bar arcade concept at a new space in downtown Orlando this month.

Located at 25 W Church Street, 1UP Orlando is putting the finishing touches on its new concept, which will carry the legacy of its predecessor, Joysticks.

The new location incorporates a variety of 80s and 90s-themed features through music videos, games, and other interactive decorations. Those include tributes to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and Jumani, among many other recognizable brands.

Although an opening date has not yet been announced, the company’s online listing suggests 1UP will open this month.

The space is next door to another bar under construction by Bar None Creations, Gogos, which has similar plans to open this summer.

The Joysticks brand was previously forced to close its location amidst the pandemic in the fall of 2020. The 1UP name pays homage to the “new life” that the owners hope to bring to the space.
