A 22-year-old man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly robbed an armored truck driver who shot at his vehicle while the man was fleeing a Lake Mary bank.
On Thursday, 22-year-old Michael Virgil was arrested after robbing an armored truck driver and leading police on a chase that ended at Camden Orange Court Apartments in downtown Orlando.
According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Virgil took cash from armored truck employees who were transferring the money from a Bank of America on Lake Mary Boulevard. One of the armored truck employees shot at Virgil’s vehicle as he left the scene.
Virgil was followed by an SCSO helicopter that tracked the vehicle to downtown Orlando, where he was arrested after entering the parking lot.
