DeBary man charged with 21 counts of child porn possession

Volusia County police arrested a 53-year-old man on Wednesday after a multi-month investigation led to the discovery of child pornography depicting children as young as two years old.

Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Saul Oliver on September 7 after a four-month investigation that began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Oliver is charged with 21 counts of possessing pictures and videos showing children in sexually explicit situations.

In May, detectives received an alert from the NCMEC and began investigating Oliver. A search warrant was executed at Oliver’s home, where multiple files of child pornography were located. According to police, the children depicted in the images and video ranged in estimated age from 2 years old to 10 years old.

Police say there were no indications of any local child victims.

Oliver was jailed on $300,000 bond at the Volusia County jail, according to court records.

Anyone who has information about Oliver or similar cases is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office’s Child Exploitation Unit at 386-323-3574.
