Seminole County Fire Department crews responded to another vehicle fire this week, marking at least the fifth-such incident in local counties this month.

On Tuesday, crews from the Seminole County Fire Department and Oviedo Fire Department were called to Goldfinch Court in Oviedo in reference to a vehicle fire at a duplex.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that a vehicle inside of one of the duplex’s garages had caught fire. That fire quickly spread throughout the garage and into the home.

The fire caused minimal damage to the adjacent unit, according to fire personnel at the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the affected family was put in contact with the American Red Cross of Central Florida.

The incident follows weeks of similar vehicle fires all across the area.

Over the weekend, a vehicle fire broke out along Interstate 4 eastbound, near the rest area in Lake Mary around mile marker 96.

Last Thursday, crews responded to a vehicle fire in Altamonte Springs.

Earlier last week, a separate vehicle became engulfed in flames while traveling along Red Bug Lake Road.

On Labor Day weekend, another car caught fire while driving along I-4 near Universal Studios.

During the first week of the month, fire crews responded to a vehicle fire that ignited on Horatio Avenue in Maitland.
