Suspects steal catalytic converters valued at $33,000 from local auto dealer

The Sanford Police Department is looking for three suspects wanted in connection with the theft of over $33,000 worth of catalytic converters from a local auto facility.

Officers responded to Longwood Truck Center at 4215 Orlando Drive on September 3 in reference to a reported theft.

Upon arrival, an employee advised that three dozen catalytic converters were stolen from numerous vehicles parked around the business. The converters are valued at over $33,000.

During their investigation, police determined that three suspects and two vehicles were involved in the theft.

The vehicle used to haul the converters was a two-tone, Ford F250 pickup truck with a flatbed.
