A 40-year-old man was shot and killed in the parking lot of an Orlando Popeyes after he intervened while two suspects were trying to burglarize his vehicle.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 6151 N Orange Blossom Trail in reference to the fatal shooting on Tuesday, September 27, at around noon. Upon arrival, police located 40-year-old Christian Dario Amaro, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Amaro was transported to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
According to detectives, two suspects were burglarizing Amaro’s vehicle in the parking lot of the Popeyes when he confronted them. Amaro was shot multiple times before the suspects fled.
Homicide detectives were able to follow a lead on the suspect vehicle and arrested 20-year-old Corina Angel and 25-year-old Dariun Longstreet a couple hours after the incident.
Angel and Longstreet both face charges of homicide while engaged in a burglary. They are currently being held at the Orange County Jail without bond, according to court records.
