15-year-old arrested after attack on resource officer trying to stop fight at St. Cloud High School

A 15-year-old student was arrested after he allegedly attacked a St. Cloud school resource officer who was trying to break up a fight between two other students.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, on Thursday, October 6, a fight broke out between two male students at St. Cloud High School, which is located at 2000 19th Street in St. Cloud.

One of the school resource officers attempted to break up the fight when a third male student grabbed the officer around the torso.

The officer and the student ended up on the ground, and the student fought and resisted the officer.

With the assistance of bystanders, the student was able to be brought under control. He was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence and was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center in Orlando.

Police say that neither the officer nor the student were injured during the incident.

Although no other arrests were made during the incident, police say the other two male students, who are both 14-years-old, will be charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence.
