Orange County putting out call to artists for 3-D bus wrap

Orange County officials are putting out a call for artists for a new design to be used on a luxury coach bus.

Orange County Arts and Cultural Affairs, in partnership with GoPegasus and United Arts of Central Florida, is soliciting artists for a new design to be used to wrap a luxury coach bus.

The organizations are asking for designs in the trompe l’oeil style, which uses two-dimensional art to create the illusion of three-dimensional space. Organizers hope the new design will encourage viewers to take photos with the vehicle.

Artwork must be submitted in a digital media format and should be representative of the Central Florida arts and culture scene. Artwork must be “Instagrammable,” using a trompe l’oeil effect to give greater depth to the work. The completed artwork will serve as background to entice people to take photos and selfies.

All applications are due by Wednesday, December 14.

For a complete set of rules and criteria, as well as important deadlines, visit the Trompe L’oeil Art Advocacy Bus Wrap Design webpage.
