Carmela Ferguson

Carmela Ferguson of Oviedo, Florida passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 89. Carmela was born in Colon, Panama on June 13, 1933. She graduated from Instituto Panamericano in Panama City as a bilingual secretary and later went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Panama.

In December 1962, she married the love of her life, Raymond Ferguson and moved to Queens, New York where they spent 30 years together building their family and careers. After her retirement, she relocated to Florida and was an active member and volunteer at her church, St. Stephens Catholic Community, in Winter Springs, Florida. She enjoyed reading, cooking and traveling the world.

Carmela was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Manuel and Josefa Esperanza, her brother, Jose, husband, Raymond and her son, Raymond Jr. She is survived by her sister, Flor and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carmela’s Celebration of Life will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 90 Weathersfield Ave, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 on Sunday December 4 at 2 pm. Visitation begins at 1 pm.
