66-year-old Orlando man struck, killed while crossing US 192

A 66-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was trying to cross U.S. Highway 192 in Kissimmee.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of US 192 and N Poinciana Boulevard on Tuesday, December 6, at around 9:35 p.m.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge Challenger being driven by a 26-year-old Kissimmee man was traveling northbound on Poinciana Boulevard, just south of U.S. Hwy 192.

The Orlando man was crossing the roadway from east to west in a marked crosswalk with pedestrian crossing signals.

As the Dodge entered the intersection on a green signal, the pedestrian was struck by the front of the vehicle.

The 66-year-old man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
