Orange County Sheriff’s Office has identified two individuals who were involved in a murder-suicide shooting earlier this week.
According to OCSO, 54-year-old Richard Gotes Mellano was shot and killed by 38-year-old Brandon Antonio Swinton on Monday, December 12, in a murder-suicide that took place in the 200 block of Alston Drive.
During that incident, police were called to the scene at around 2:42 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired and a man down.
Upon arrival, police found Mellano suffering from gunshot wounds. Mellano was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Deputies made entry into a home on Alston Drive and found Swinton with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Swinton was pronounced deceased at the scene.
