A 57-year-old Deltona man was killed after he hydroplaned his vehicle on Interstate 4 and crashed into a sign.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Thursday, December 15, at around 1:45 p.m. near mile marker 127 on I-4 in Volusia County.
The man was driving his 2020 Toyota Corolla eastbound on the highway, in the center lane, when he lost control, hydroplaned, and traveled off the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle rotated, causing the rear to collided with a sign support pole on the right shoulder.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
