A Mount Dora Asian restaurant known for creative dishes like sushi donuts, sushi burritos, and sushi burgers is expanding with a second location in Maitland.
Wave Asian Bistro & Sushi will expand into Maitland at 360 E. Horatio Avenue, joining a slate of other restaurants at the new Maitland Social retail development.
The restaurant will occupy a nearly 1,400-square-foot space with an outdoor patio next to Vitality Bowls Superfood Cafe, which recently opened a new location in O-Town West. The Maitland Social is a new, upscale development that will occupy a former one-story bank building in the community.
Known for its creative takes on traditional Asian cuisine, Wave Asian Bistro & Sushi exploded onto the scene in Mount Dora five years ago. The business has amassed a large following across social media due to its interesting and one-of-a-kind dishes.
That includes poke bowls, hibachi bowls, entrees, and appetizers that feature sushi in a variety of forms. From sushi stacks, to burgers, hotdogs, tacos, burritos, crunch wraps, and pizza, the restaurant is not afraid to combine sushi with well-known comfort foods.
In addition to their creations, the restaurant also features a full nigiri, sashimi, and sushi menu with multiple specialty rolls.
