A 30-year-old Orange County man is facing up to life in prison after he was caught last February attempting to deliver 20 pounds of marijuana to Tallahassee.

Sean Secada Scott was found guilty by a federal jury in Tallahassee of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and carrying a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime.

According to court records, the Tallahassee Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration learned that Scott, who is from Ocoee, would be delivering 20 pounds of marijuana to Tallahassee on February 26, 2022.

Law enforcement authorities began conducting surveillance on Scott and, on the day of his arrest, observed him loading a suitcase into the trunk of his vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted on Scott a short time later by the Florida Highway Patrol.

During that stop, authorities seized the suitcase and found approximately 20 pounds of marijuana inside. The marijuana was individually vacuum sealed in 20 different bags. Additionally, authorities found a Glock 9-millimeter pistol in the center console of the vehicle.

Scott was found guilty on Thursday, February 2, after a three-day trial in the Northern District of Florida. He faces between five years and life imprisonment, followed by at least two years of supervised release and a fine of up to $500,000.
