DeLand police are investigating the death of a 21-year-old student who was found dead in a Stetson University dorm room.
DeLand Police Department officers responded to the Stetson University Campus on Saturday, February 4, at around 7:50 p.m. after a man was found unresponsive in on-campus housing.
Upon arrival, police found Kaleb Walker, unresponsive in a dorm room.
Walker was later pronounced deceased.
Police say that based on their preliminary investigation, foul play is not suspected in Walker’s death.
Friends and family have taken to social media to grieve Walker, who was a self-proclaimed “sneakerhead.”
“You really don’t know how much you’re missed. Thank you for everything, rest easy my friend,” reads a post from Jace Krzywicki-Appenzeller.
“Kaleb, I’m so lost for words, it really hit home and my heart is broken with hearing that you are gone,” reads a post from Mary Ann Young.
The DeLand Police Criminal Investigations Division is working with the Stetson University’s Campus Public Safety team to investigate the death.
