Another garage fire broke out at an Orlando-area residence, joining a long list of similar incidents over the past several months.
Orlando Fire Department units responded to a residential fire at 5111 Jalisco Lane, in the Salina Walk subdivision of southeast Orlando, on Monday, March 13.
According to authorities, smoke detectors alerted the residents to the fire and they were able to escape the home without injury.
Firefighters quickly contained the residential fire to the garage area.
The incident follows a string of similar incidents, as fires have been breaking out in garages across the tri-county area over the past several months.
In late January, a home in Winter Park was consumed by a fire that broke out in a garage. In that instance, the family was away when the fire began.
In October, at least two garage fires took place within a week span in Winter Springs. One of the fires was started by a grill, according to authorities.
In September, a separate garage fire broke out in Winter Park after a home was struck by lightning.
