Mildred Camille “Millie” Imbriani Castanien, age 96 passed into heaven on February 22nd with her three children by her side.
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Millie met her loving husband Donald Castanien, a naval ensign on a blind date and were married shortly thereafter. They were immediately sent to Bermuda with the Navy where their eldest son Donald Craig was born with the births of Sue Ellen and David Douglas to follow a few years later.
Millie was a homemaker and a kind, loving and generous mother to her children as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she cared for along with the family pet. She enjoyed music, harmonizing to her favorite songs and always up for a little jitterbug. She seldom spoke unkind words but would defend her family to the ends of the earth.
Millie is survived by her three children, their spouses Diane and Katy. Her four grandchildren and their spouses, Casie Hanson and Ben, Jami Craig and Ben, Luke Castanien Megan, and Matthew Castanien and Lindsay. Her nine great grandchildren, Drake and Zach Hanson, Emory and Odette Crum, Elijah, Sienna and Xander Castanien and Aiden and Trevor Castanien. Her brother Ralph Imbriani and an extended family of nieces and nephews.
A gravesite service will be held on April 8th at 11 am at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, Florida. A celebration of life will take place on July 2nd in New Smyrna Beach, Florida with more information at a later date.
