Mavis Dailey 1681918176

Dailey, Mavis – Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Longwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, at the age 93. She is now resting in eternal peace. Mavis was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica. She was the second eldest child of Lily Cawley and Charley Sang ; the oldest being Inez, and the youngest, Albert Sang.

As a young adult, Mavis moved to Kingston where she met Charles, fell in love, and got married. They had four children, three sons and a daughter. She was a dedicated, loving hard-working life partner to Charles, supporting and working side by side in the daily toil of the grocery store and ice cream parlor.

Mavis was a loving, protective mother but also extended that love to the young and old with whom she came into contact with throughout her life. Even if she wasn’t directly asked for help, she had an uncanny intuition that there was a need and helped in anyway she could, whether by listening and consoling, or by providing food, or even money, to the poor.

Mavis worshipped and believed in God. She always put everything in His hands. No trouble was too small or too big to ask for help. She lived her life according to the teachings of the Bible.

We remember Mavis, beloved mother to Vincent (Marcia) Chin, Beverley (the late Hak) Savani, the late Kenneth (Meera) Chin, and Maurice Chin. To Consigliore Byron (Valerie) Lee and Devoted nephew, Peter Addison. Loving grandmother to Natasha (Rohan) Shahani, Simone Chang, Stacy (Tommy) Thurman, Taruna Chin, and Sunita Chin (David Severe). Dear great-grandmother to Maya, Adrian, Jada, Lila Zi, and Olivia.

Mavis will be sadly missed but Heaven has gained a new angel.
