A 60-year-old Daytona Beach man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a vehicle that turned in front of him.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Sunday, May 7, at around 5:05 p.m.
The man was riding his 2005 Suzuki GSX1300R eastbound on Wright Street, approaching Circle Drive in Volusia County.
A witness says the motorcycle was traveling above the posted speed limit.
A 2017 Ford Focus, being driven by a 32-year-old Holly Hill man, was traveling westbound on Wright Street when it began to turn left onto Circle Drive. Upon doing so, the vehicle entered the direct path of the motorcycle.
As a result, the right side of the Ford struck the front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
