Myrhl E. Watford

Funeral services for Myrhl Watford, who passed away on May 4, 2023.

Myrhl is survived by one son, Kenneth Lacy of Cumming, GA, two daughters, Ruth Anne Morrin (Bill) of Montverde, FL, and Kathy McIntire of Orlando, FL. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Dr. Otho Watford, OD, of Winter Garden, FL, and two sons, Richard (Dickie) Lacy and Lonnie Lacy, both of Orlando, FL.

Born in Russellville, Kentucky on April 30th 1927, Myrhl moved to Florida in 1958. She met her husband, Otho, in Florida, and worked for many years in his optometry practice. It was Otho who introduced her to the game of golf, which became a lifelong passion. The two of them spent many hours on the greens of West Orange Country Club. Myrhl’s other hobbies included ballroom dancing, card playing, and socializing with friends from the club.

In 2008, she moved to The Villages, where she continued to be the social butterfly we all loved. During her time in The Villages, Myrhl achieved one of her most exciting accomplishments, sinking a hole in one.

In December 2022 she came back to the Clermont, Florida, area to be closer to family. She became a resident at the Benton House, where her family would come and visit daily to play dominos and cards. There she was given the title of “Queen” because of her humor and loving personality.

Myrhl was loved deeply by her friends and family and will be forever missed.
