A vehicle caught fire in Longwood over the weekend, joining several other similar incidents in the county over the past several weeks.
Seminole County Fire Department crews were called to the scene of a vehicle fire in Longwood on Saturday, June 10.
According to authorities, the brakes caught fire and created a blaze that consumed the entire vehicle.
The fire was extinguished immediately by crews and there were no injuries reported. No other vehicles or the surrounding area sustained any damage.

Last week, SCFD crews responded to reports of an active truck fire on Montgomery Road in Altamonte Springs. According to authorities, there was fuel leaking from the tank onto the roadway.

The week before, on May 27, SCFD crews were called to the scene of two vehicle fires in one day. The first took place at the Circle K gas station located at 91 State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, next to Interstate 4.

The second fire happened that same evening around 9:13 p.m. Crews responded that evening to Moswood Circle in Winter Springs and found a vehicle fully involved with flames.

Last year, several vehicle fires took place all around the tri-county area, mostly occurring during the summer months. According to the National Fire Protection Association, highway vehicle fires are most common from May through August, peaking in July.
