Police have arrested a suspect that they believe was responsible for a shooting during a festival on Memorial Day that injured two victims, including one who was holding a child in his arms at the time.
Orlando Police Department Fugitive Investigative Unit members arrested Rashawn Francis on Tuesday, June 20, on multiple felony charges in connection with the shooting, which took place on May 29.

During that incident, Francis allegedly opened fire during a festival that was taking place at 2100 W Washington Street. Two victims were struck by gunfire, and police say that one of the victims was fired upon “multiple times at a close distance” while he was holding a young child in his arms.
According to authorities, the child was “miraculously” uninjured in the incident.
The two adult victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.
During their investigation, detectives identified the shooter as Francis and an arrest warrant was obtained.
Francis is being charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, child abuse, and five counts of criminal mischief.
