Little Radical Theatrics will perform multiple showings of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical this week at the Mandell Studio Theater.
The musical will kick off on Thursday, July 27, at 7 p.m., with additional shows scheduled on Friday, July 28, at 8 p.m., Saturday, July 29 at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, July 30 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All shows will take place at the Mandell Studio Theater, which is located at 812 E. Rollins St. in Orlando.
The musical follows the life of Matilda, a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and loves to punish those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace.
Tickets for the show are $25 for children, $30 for adults when purchased in advance, and $35 at the door.
