Kissimmee man killed in head-on collision off John Young Parkway

A 56-year-old Kissimmee man was killed early this morning after his vehicle was struck head-on by another vehicle that crossed over a median and drove into oncoming traffic.

The fatal accident took place at the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and John Young Parkway on Tuesday, August 15 at around 5:21 a.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 21-year-old Orlando man was driving a 2015 BMW X1 southbound on Pleasant Hill Road, just south of John Young Parkway. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the median and into the northbound lanes of Pleasant Hill Road.

As a result, the front of the BMW collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Aveo being driven by the Kissimmee man.

The impact caused the BMW to collide with a 2019 Toyota Camry being driven by a 30-year-old Orlando man. After that collision, the BMW overturned.

The drivers of the BMW and the Chevrolet were both transported to Osceola Regional Hospital.

The Kissimmee man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The driver of the Toyota and his passenger, a 21-year-old Orlando woman, received minor injuries and were not transported from the scene.
