Minoti Sharma

Mrs. Minoti Sharma Ph.D. May 19, 1939 – August 13, 2023, age 84; passed away in Celebration, Florida. Mina was born in Shillong, India as the youngest of 9 children to her parents Indreswar and Kamini Sharma.

She was the loving wife of Dr. Moheswar Sharma (1930-2012). She is the loving mother of Dr. Mirand (Barbara Reeb-Sharma) Sharma and Dr. Moira (Tim Aspinwall) Sharma; cherished grandmother of Sam and Ben Sharma; survived by one sister (living in Assam, India), many nephews, nieces, and extended family members.

Dr. Sharma was a biophysicist who had an accomplished career in cancer research at Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute of Buffalo, NY. She was a long-time community member in Sanskriti Cultural Society in Buffalo, NY and an early member of the Assamese Association of North America (AANA). She was also a supporter of the Himalayan Institute, a center for meditation and spirituality. She loved sweets, laughing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Mina’s children will have a private cremation ceremony in Orlando, Florida, and subsequent services in India.
